The Artist’s Story-
I grew up in Clarkston, surrounded by a big family. I have five brothers and one sister. The boys made me tough, and the sister was my photographic model since she could walk. My parents gave me a love for beauty and art—and always encouraged me to photograph what was around me. In 2004, they encouraged me to take my love for photography and study it. I took their advice and studied photographic technology (and liberal arts!) at Oakland Community College. Although I originally wanted to transfer in to journalism, I have never regretted staying with my true passion. While at OCC, I really found my style, which is journalistic people photography! I love photographing people; getting to know them, finding out about their lives, having them become relaxed enough to give me a glimpse of their real personality. I love my job! Shortly before graduating, I met my wonderful husband Randy. We love each other very much and have a lot of fun together. We rock climb, mountain bike, and met snowboarding! We don’t have any kids yet, but have a delightful and slightly overactive Standard Poodle named Traido.
In 2007, we officially launched Flashes of Life Photography. My passion is to capture who people are and through that process, create art.
